LMIA/Int’l Mobility Program/TFWP
Thousands of temporary foreign workers are welcomed into Canada each year to help with labor shortages that may arise in the market for a variety of reasons. These variables could be things like shifting labor markets, climate change, or the fact that the economy is now requiring different goods, which is why there are labor shortages. When there are vacancies in the labour market, foreign workers who visit Canada temporarily to meet market demands occupy these positions. This could be your chance to work in the Canadian workforce and could provide you the exposure you need to eventually contribute to the country’s economy.
ESSENTIALS:
It might be necessary for your company to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assesment (LMIA) from HRSDC, or Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.
An LMIA certifies that a foreign worker may fill the open post as there isn’t a permanent resident of Canada who can do so.
Not all jobs need an LMIA, and our advisors can help you determine whether your specific role calls for one.
The general conditions must be fulfilled in order for you to enter, remain, and work in Canada.
You might therefore need to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).
You may apply to enter Canada with your dependant children, spouse, or common law partner.
